NEW IN FROM NELLY

Konnichiwa mina-san!

I went on a spending spree on Nelly (link) and bought some summer items for my wardrobe. I sorely needed some ligheter clothes now that it is getting warmed outside. So, anyways I thought I would show you what I got.

The first item is a Coca-Cola x Tommy Jeans t-shirt, and the second is the black denim skirt with a a long zipper detail
Next up is really summery. This simple white top with these cute little buttons, and a green and white striped "bag" skirt that I'm falling in love with.
This one I'm not sure about if I like.... I might end up returning it. I will give it another fitting try and decide then
Lastly, I got this playsuit that is my favorite out of all the items! I love the baggy loose fit, the soft and light material and not to mention the pretty light pastel colours and pattern

Oh and Game of Thrones final was awful as expected, might make another review. Now back to studying! I'll see you later.

NEW BURGERS TEST

Hey!

So to jump right into it, there's been a lot of new vegan burgers coming onto the market recently. So I thought I would give out a short review on them.

First in the test is the Inredible Burger by Halsans Kok. It has 19grams of protein per burger, a 2 pack costs 49NOK and it's relatively healthy in terms of ingredients and fat. It's very "meaty" for a vegan burger and I would taste-wise say it's -incredibly- good, and juicy. I would rate it 4 out of 5.
Next in the test is the Beyond Meat Burger. It's 100% plant based like the others in the test, and it's supposed to taste like meat and bleed like meat (with the use of beet juice). It has 20grams of protein per burger, cost 89NOK (incredibly expensive) and in terms of ingredients it's the unhealthiest burger in the test. Out of the three in the test, this one is my least favorite. It does not live up to it's promises, is extremely expensive compared to the others but taste pretty much the same. This burger was so hyped by vegan youtubers so I was sort of let down. I would rate it 3 out 5.
The final burger in the test is the Oumph! Burger. It has 19grams of protein per burger, is made from few ingredients (pretty much just soya protein concentrate and water) and has a decent price like the first burger. This one was my favorite of the test, and if you compare them in "meatiniess" I find this one to be the one that closest resembles it, though I'm not even sure if that's what they were going for. The texture and thickness makes is really juicy, and it get's a nice crisp like if you'd grilled it. I rate this one 5 out of 5.

These are just some vegan burgers on the market, other that didn't make it to the test are still pretty good. Fun fact about me: I didn't like burgers before I went vegan, now burgers are pretty much my favorite (maybe aside from tacos). I will see you later.

ORGANIZING

Hello! ⌁`

I've bought some practical stuff for the apartment recently that I thought I would show you.

Me and Anders went with my parents to IKEA, and got some organizers for closets that we decided to use in our bathroom shelves and our closet.

So instead of just being a regular mess, it is now a more organized mess in there.
I also got the idea to use these pretty boxes from Rituals I had lying around to organize my skincare products and my makeup

All of my makeup is inside the orange box, and in the pink toilet purse I have products that I use almost everyday aka the basics (mascara, favorite lipstick, primer, concealer and foundation).

Also got these matching wood bamboo soap and tootbrush holders for our bathroom. The Gucci perfume I bought in London and also is called bamboo.
And... we finally got this georgeous closet from IKEA set up! I customized it myself. It was a gift from my parents. We finally have a place to put away all of our jackets and gloves and stuff. The kimono I'm wearing is also new and from Cubus.

And this is the last thing I will show you. I organized our entire bookshelf and I'm particularily happy about this Game of Thrones -dedicated section. The tall book and Whiskey we got in England, the complete book series and Targeryen flag/banner we bought in Outland, Stavanger. The glasses are from IKEA.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I thought it might give you some tips on how to organize stuff around your place. Now I'll have to go back to studying for finals/exams and maybe play a bit of the Sims 4 for a break, if I'm lucky.

HAPPY CONSTITUTION DAY

Gratulerer med dagen til alle nordmenn! / Happy constitution day to my fellow Norwegians! Today, May 17th is the National Day in Norway. This is celebrated by parades, norwegian flags, speeches, champagne breakfast, good food and good company. The traditional food most everyone eats today is hot dogs, ice cream and tons of strawberries.
We decorated outside for today with some pretty flowers and a flag 😁

This was our breakfast. We had "children's champagne" cause neither of us likes the real deal haha. Oh, and also strawberries.πŸ“
We went to the city after the children's parade and got some traditional norwegian ice cream "kroneis". 🍦
And of course, it wouldn't been 17th of May without any *vegan* hot dogs. 🌱

I will go back to celebrating now. Hope you all have a nice day 😁

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING TO GAME OF THRONES (SPOILERS!)

Hello fellow Game of Thrones enthusiast, if that sentence does not describe you or you are not caught up on the newest episode of season 8, I suggest you stop reading. There will be spoilers!

I reckon pretty much everyone have, in one way or another witnessed the fad that this season has been and the split opinions it has caused. From my perspective, most of the people who enjoy this season are very "casual" fans, they enjoy the show and that's pretty much it, they don't look to deeply in to it. Maybe I'm wrong. However, I feel like that is the situation and that more driven fans, that's been looking into the lore for years now, loving the show and practically worshipping George R. R. Martin's ground are left pretty disatisfied and frustrated, and with a big whole in the chest left there by this seasons writers D & D.

Ah. I can't think of a more iconic phrase to sum up the writing of this season.

I fit somewhere in between these groups. Yes, I love Game of Thrones, I haven't read the books yet (but bought them prior to this season started) but I've been a stan and I love some characters and the sickening, unexpected twists that is at this point, expected for a show of this grandiousity. And that just is the issue for me, the season appears or pretends to be grandious. But in reality, it fails to live up to this expection. I was forgiving on this season up until episode 4, that was my point of no return, the show has utterly failed the fans this season. Episode 5 was even worse. I could forgive episode 1, 2 and even 3, because I expected that much more the following episodes. I mean, I pretty much expected a bigger twist/reveal than the "Hodor - Hold the door" and oh boy, does the show not live up to that same standard. Let me pinpoint my bigges issues with this season:

First of all, as I briefly discussed there is the lack of grandiousity. This is the final(!) season, it should have been a bloodbath that made the red wedding seem like a modern day babyshower in comparision. What we get instead is a terrible attempt to shock the viewers, by killing, mostly nameless and small/uniteresting characters. Honestly, I think the season should have just ended with episode 3 and just make it more grand, at this point. It was a solid episode, that I had minor issues with. Kill a few more characters, bring the walkers to Kings Landing and you would have had a pretty good finale. Instead they decided to continue on, and make episode 5 the greatest battle. I was okay with that, until I saw the episode.

That brings me to my second issue, as I like to call it "the complete waste of awesome characters with loads of potential". All ruined this season. Let's start of with Sansa. She was finally starting to seem cool and bring good points to the table, only to be ruined yet again, as a b-word that doesn't trust Daenerys for any apparent reason? Even though, in Missandei's words (RIP): if not for her we'd all be dead already. I understand that the show is TRYING to foreshadow the "Oh, Danerys is the mad queen" and should not be trusted.... The problem is just that they really haven't been leading up to that point at all, or certainly at least done a terrible job doing so. So yes, both Sansa and Dany ruined. Who's more is Jamie, Cersei, Tyrion and Varys. Jamie's arc of redemption, becoming a better man independent of Cersei? Utterly thrown out the window and made completely pointless. Cersei going from the greatest and toughest villain, killing Danerys dragon so easily and seemingly, having the upper hand went down far too easy in order for this to be a great "battle", it was just a pointless slaughter that made no sense and made Cersei seem like a non-cunning woman with no battle strategy or back up plans. The same woman who blew up the chapel with wildfire, mind you. Tyrion is another character, suddenly naive beyond belief and the worst adviser of the seven kingdoms. Varys death was also unstatisfying, and in my opinion the "Cleganebowl" fight was far too underwhelming compared to Kings Landing left in ashes all around them. I think the only character they haven't ruined for me at this point is Arya.

A third issue that I have is how poorly unleft lore was handled. What really was the deal with the Night King and the white walkers, what was Bran doing during the Battle of Winterfell and what was the point of his entire story arc, why aren't important characters like Yara and Daario Naharis making a final appperance, are probably the most important questions remaining without any real answer. It's like these characters are just forgotten and the entire season is rushed. Oh, also remember Euron? How he went from a big threat suddenly introduced to pointlessly fighting with Jamie instead of Yara, and then just die? Yep, I rememeber that too. The Azor Ahai profecy is still left unhandled.

No review would be fair without bringing up what's good about the season. So, let me just say that the directicing is good, the visuals are stunning, the actors are doing amazing jobs. For me I think Lena Headey (Cersei) and Alfie Allen (Theon) has stood out the most. I think the twist ending with Arya killing the Night King was great, though I understand other's people's issues with how he went down "too easily". However I believe the show has always been about the humans and how they are the greatest threat to each other, so I like how that was handled for the most part. I thought the sceneografi in that episode was equally great, showcasing the dark terrors of fighting the undead, the confusion, blurry/lack of vision etc. really contributed to that feeling of anxiety and high pulse I experienced throughout the entire episode. I though Theon, Jorah Mormont and Lyanna Mormont's deaths were among the best and saddest on the enitre show, and the destruction of pretty much the enitre Dothraki army at the very beginning of the episode was brilliant and really helped set the mood for the entire episode.

The real and only winner of this season. Last seen carrying the heaviest plot armor ever witnessed in episode 5.

There is just one episode left, and it's a predictable mess. Dany dies by the hand of Jon or Arya for her "madness", Sansa rules the north, Tyrion is executed for his betrayal. Jon probably goes back to Nights watch or the wildlings/is reunited with Ghost, and left to sit on the throne is... at this point probably Bran or Sam? Maybe Gendry? It doesn't matter anymore really. I gave the show the benefit of doubt for the first three episodes, I certainly won't make the same mistake for the last remaining one.

So, in conclusion, what do we say to the writers D&D?

I am still a big fan of the series, and look forward to reading the books, especially the final ones. I just really needed to vent out my thoughts on my favorite show, and hope you enjoyed my review. Let me know what you agree/disagree with in the comments below.

ABOUT EASTER AND LONDON...

Hi there,

I've been quite busy hence the absence on my blog. Thought I would take a short break from my studies and update some! Let's start off with Easter.

We went off on easter break april 15th (I believe..) That was like a month since last I posted, more or less. I don't think anything in particular happened in that space. For Easter me and Anders exchanged easter eggs with candy and cute stuff in it, I for example got a tiny D.va figure I could put on my keychain. We spent easter around 50/50 with my parents/family and his on BΓΈmlo, where we did a lot of quizzes, egg-hunting, grilling and had our first swim of the year! Brrr, it was freezing. Sadly, I didn't take a lot of photos.

On April 21st me and Anders traveled to London with our friends Glen and Sollaug! We had booked a gorgeous, modern hotel with inside swimming, pool, sauna and spa. It was amazing I would reccomend it. The hotel we stayed at is named "Park Plaza London Riverbank".

Park Plaza London Riverbank, London, Indoor Pool

The picture is from the Hotels own website.

Bath tub!! We got some nice bathbombs from Lush, this one was called "avobath bomb"

London Parliament (part of it). We also went to see the Castle, London Eye and London Bridge. Sadly Big Ben was under reconsutruction, but we've alle been to London before and seen it.

And...What we went to London for in the first place, to see Hollywood Undead live at the 02 Brixton Academy!

We got shirts from the concert.

And we witnessed some protest in our stay, EU, abortian and environmental protests! The last type blocked our street once, good vibes.

I have one last thing to say about our trip. If you go there you HAVE TO TRY GREGG'S VEGAN SAUSAGE ROLLS! They were dangerously good and addictive.

After London and easter pretty much all of my time and energy has went into studying/revising for my exams. This is also the reason I haven't updated in so long, but stay tuned because I have a few posts planned in the near future.

LAST WEEK

Hello. Why not start of my new blog by sharing what I did this past week? It might give you some insight into what I'm like and what this blog will look like. 😁

Thursday 14/03.
I was still ill from like almost 3! full weeks of being unable to work and go to uni or do pretty much anything. It's gotten a whole lot better now and I'm fully recovered, thanks for asking.

Friday 15/03.
By now I was starting to feel a lot better. Most of this day I spent working on a school assignment that was due Saturday.

Saturday 16/03.
This was quite a fun day! Anders (my bf) spent most of the day playing football and I spent most of the day playing mythical raids in World of Warcraft with my guild. The best part however was we had a date in the evening where we went out to eat burgers and then watched Captain Marvel at the movies. ❤ The film was great!

We ate at this bar/resturant who had gotten the famous Beyond Meat burger! It was good, but I mean I was underwhelmed because well... It tastes exactly like meat, and I neaver cared for beef burgers so I still prefer regular veggie burgers by far. πŸ˜…

Sunday 17/03.
We had to clean the enitirety of our old apartment... Been putting that one off forever!

Monday 18/03.
I was at university all day for first time since being sick. Other then that nothing special.

Tuesday 19/03.
We finally booked hotel for our trip with another couple next month! Going to London to see Hollywood Undead. Also I binged the Netflix show Romance is a bonus book.

Wednesday 20/03.
So this was yesterday, nothing remeberable?

Thursday 21/03.
You already know this one, I created this blog!

Hope this gave you a little snap shot into my life and this blog. Until next time.
